WPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians to reach playoffs

Mumbai Indians led by Harmanpreet Kaur were defeated by Smriti Mandhana's team by 7 wickets. With this win, Royal Challengers Bangalore have reached the playoffs. Bangalore became the third and final team to enter the play-offs. Earlier, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians had qualified for the playoffs. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians have the same 10 points each. While Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs with 8 points.

In the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, RCB defeated MI by 7 wickets. Mumbai gave Bangalore a target of 114 runs to win, which the Bangalore team achieved in 15 overs.

Batting first in today's match, Mumbai scored 113 runs with the help of 30 runs from S Sajna and 26 runs from Hayley Mathews. While bowling Mumbai's Shabneem Ismail, Haley Mathews and Nate Sciver-Brunt got one wicket each.

With the help of Ellis Perry's 40 and Richa Ghosh's 38 runs, the Bangalore team chased down the target in 15 overs and won this all-important match to book a spot in the playoffs, knocking out UP and Gujarat.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have reached the playoffs with this win. Bangalore are third in the points table and have 8 points. While Delhi is first and Mumbai is second. Both teams have already qualified for the playoffs. While Gujarat and UP are now out of the playoff race.

Under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team got their fourth win in the eighth match of this season. Alice Perry was the hero of the victory in this match and also won the player of the match award.
