According to Hinduism there are total 8 types of marriage. But all these do not get religious approval. In which Sapind Lagna is also included. Currently Sapind Lagna is in much discussion. But do you know what Sapind Lagna is?

Under Section 3(f)(ii) of the Hindu Marriage Act, the marriage of two persons is treated as a 'Sapinda Vivah' if they share the same ancestry.

Sapind Lagna means marriage within 3 generations from mother and 5 generations from father. Then this marriage is called Sapind Vivah.

Any marriage that violates Section 5(v) of the Hindu Marriage Act is considered void.

In any Hindu society there is a custom of this type of marriage. Also sapind marriage can only be performed for people who have been married for a very long time.
