We are hard workers, not reel builders like you – Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav lashes out at Opposition in Lok Sabha

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav hit out at the opposition saying, "We are hardworking people, we are not people who make reels and show off like you." Regarding railway security, he said that work is going on to install a modern version of the security shield system in the railways at every kilometer of the country's railway network and no effort will be spared. About Loco Pilots, Ashwini Vaishnav said that “All matters related to Loco Pilots, average working and rest time etc. are determined by the rules made in 2005 under the Railway Act. These rules were subsequently amended in 2016 and more facilities were provided to the loco pilots.

'Recruitment decreased during UPA'

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that all 558 running rooms are air-conditioned. Locomotive cabs vibrate a lot and get very hot. Therefore, the over 7,000 people pilot's cabin is air-conditioned and given an ergonomic design. Those who were in power before 2014, it would have been better if these people had sympathized with the pilot. All this was zero in the time of the people who are trying to gain sympathy by making reels today. There were no facilities for human pilots.

Referring to recruitment in railways, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “If we talk about recruitment in railways, during the tenure of UPA, from 2004 to 2014, only 4 lakh 11 thousand employees were recruited in railways, while during this 10-year rule of NDA from 2014 to 2024, employees were recruited. The recruitment has crossed 5 lakh 2 thousand.

He said that there should be an annual calendar for railway recruitment, we have announced it in January 2024. Vacancies are now announced four times a year (January, April, July and October) for the youth who want to join the Railways. Still as many as 40,565 vacancies have been advertised and are to be filled. The program of which will also be announced.
