Terrorist attack rocked Balochistan before elections in Pakistan, 8 people died

As the elections in Pakistan approach, the law and order situation in Balochistan is deteriorating. Terrorist incidents are increasing in many districts of Balochistan province. Terrorists have started targeting Election Commission offices, election rallies, candidates and their offices. Eight people have been killed and over 28 injured so far in more than two dozen attacks.

According to Pakistani media, six people, including Pakistan People's Party (PPP) activists, were injured in the attacks in several cities of Balochistan on Friday. According to reports, three PPP workers were injured in Mughalsarai area of ​​Kalat city when unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants targeted the party office.

Attack on the house of Mir Abdul Rauf Rind

Turbat, the home of PPP candidate Mir Abdul Rauf Rind, was targeted by terrorists in a grenade attack. Rind is contesting from PB-27 catch. Local officials said the hand grenade was thrown into Rind's residential complex. However, no damage was done in this explosion. The motive behind the attack is not clear. The incident has raised security concerns for political candidates at a time when the election situation is getting tense.

Government agencies have started an investigation into the incident to identify the terrorists and find out the circumstances surrounding the attack. While Mir Abdul Rauf Rind has declared that he is not afraid of these incidents. Rind stressed the need for a peaceful and secure election process from the Election Commission.

In recent incidents, two blasts took place near the election offices of Mazloom OLSI Tehreek Pakistan and JUI on Quetta's Eastern Bypass in which 3 people were injured. According to police sources, the gate of the city police station in Nushki was targeted by a hand grenade, though there were no casualties here either.

Rallies canceled due to attack

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and Pakistan Muslim League-N have jointly announced the cancellation of their election rallies in Sanjvi and Harnai. Deputy Commissioner Ziarat, Hamudur Rehman convened a meeting with delegations of both parties led by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and Pakistan Muslim League-N district president Maulvi Noorul Haque and Abdul Sattar Kakar. After discussion, it was unanimously decided to cancel the election rally to be held in Sanjvi.

Attacks have intensified in recent times in Balochistan. Last month, 15 blasts took place in nine districts of Balochistan. These attacks include bombing Election Commission premises, offices, rallies and candidates. 8 people including policemen were killed and 28 people were injured in these attacks.
