NEET UG 2024 exam paper leak case heard in Supreme Court. In which the Supreme Court said that the NEET paper was leaked only in Patna and Hazaribagh. The paper was not widely leaked. The CJI said that if a student has any problem with the decision given, he can approach the High Court.

Why was the exam not cancelled?
The apex court said that no systematic flaw was found in the conduct of the examination. If the exam had been cancelled, it would have affected lakhs of students who had appeared for the exam. At the same time, it will have the opposite effect on the students clearing the exam. In such a situation, after thorough investigation and consideration of all issues, it was decided not to cancel the examination.
Instructions for preparation of SOP
The Supreme Court has also given directions to ensure the sanctity and integrity of the examination and its procedures and to develop mechanisms to prevent copying by candidates. The Supreme Court held that without compromising the right to privacy, technological innovations and periodic verification of candidates' identity are necessary to ensure that no candidate holds a proxy for the examination.
SC criticizes NTA
A bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud said that all examination centers should have CCTV surveillance. While reiterating that there was no systemic violation, the Supreme Court also criticized the NTA for paper leak, distribution of wrong question paper and awarding marks for wrong option of Physics question.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the central government and the NTA, assured the Supreme Court that all its directives will be implemented to enhance the security, sanctity and integrity of the NEET and other examinations conducted by the NTA.
