Share Market Opening Bell: Today, on Wednesday, the share market opened in the green mark with a marginal increase. There are mixed signals from the global market. Gift Nifty is trading above 22200 with modest strength. Earlier on Tuesday, the Sensex closed at 73,095 with a jump of 305 points.

Stock Market Opening (27 February 2024)

  • SENSEX : 73,162.82  +67.60  
  • NIFTY : 22,214.10 +15.75  

The market saw range trading during the first two sessions of this week. After a 2-day decline, the market closed in the green on Tuesday. However, there is no direction in the market right now but still Nifty has managed to touch above 22,000 during intraday in last 5 trading sessions. IT, metal and real estate stocks performed well on Tuesday after underperforming on Monday.

An indication of global markets

US markets closed flat yesterday. The American market is waiting for the US PCE data. Inflation figures will be announced on March 12 in America. Smallcap index Russell 2000 outperformed yesterday. Selling by global hedge funds has increased in tech stocks. Global hedge funds have sold the most in the last 8 months.

Talking about the Asian markets, a decline is seen here today. The Taiwan market is closed today. Japan's Nikkei index is down 0.2%. However, South Korea's Kospi index is seeing an increase of about half a percent. Markets in Hong Kong and China are also declining.

Statistics of FIIs-DII

Yesterday the cash market saw selling of ₹ 1509.16 crore by foreign institutional investors. Whereas, shares worth ₹ 2861.56 crore have been purchased by domestic institutional investors. FIIs have sold ₹17,651.60 crore in the cash market so far in the month of February. Similarly, DII has purchased ₹23,782.06 crore so far this month.
