There is another story about Lord Shiva's parents, according to which, once there was a dispute between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. In the dispute Lord Brahma said to Lord Vishnu that I am your father because I have created the entire creation, I am the creator, therefore I am your father. Lord Vishnu then said to Brahma, You are not my father, but I am your father, because you were born from the lotus of my navel.

The dispute between Brahmaji and Vishnuji increased. Then approaching Sadashiva to settle their dispute, Shiva said, Sons, I have given you two works on the origin and condition of the world. Similarly, I have assigned to Siva and Rudra also the responsibility of destruction and destruction. I have five faces. Akar (A) is produced from one mukha, Ukar (U) from the second mukha, Mukar (M) from the third mukha, Bindu (.) from the fourth mukha and Naad (word) from the fifth mukha. At that time a pillar of light (Linga) appears. Mahadev orders Brahma and Vishnu to find the beginning and end of that pillar. For days the gods fail to find the beginning and end of that pillar. Then he realizes that Lord Shiva is supreme.

Linga Purana – Linga Purana is one of the 18 Mahapuranas that narrates the story of Lord Shiva's Jyotirlinga. The glory of Lord Shiva is described in 11 thousand verses in Linga Purana. It is considered the best of all Puranas. Even in the Linga Purana, Lord Shiva is described as self-sufficient and eternal. This Purana describes the glory of Shivlinga and the various forms of Shivlinga. This Purana also identifies Lord Shiva as Param Shakti.
