  • 500 kilograms all purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cup refined oil - salt as required
  • chilled water as required
  • 1 teaspoon carom seeds

How to make Samosa Chaat

Step 1

To prepare this delicious chaat recipe, first you need to make the samosas. For the same, take a large bowl and mix together all purpose flour, carom seeds, two tablespoons of refined oil, salt and baking powder. Then, add a little water in it and knead a a little hard dough, like that of puri. Once the dough is ready, cover with a damp cloth for about 20-30 minutes.

Next, you need to prepare the filling of the samosa. For the same, put a kadhai or a wok over medium flame and heat a little oil in it. Once the oil is hot enough, add cumin seeds in it along with chopped green chillies in it for a minute. Then, add the mashed potatoes in it along with peas and green beans. Saute for a while and then add cumin powder in it along with garam masala powder. Mix well and cook for about 2-3 minutes. Then, add in salt and cook for another minute. Once done, transfer to a bowl and keep aside.

Step 3

By now, the dough will be ready to make the samosas. Put a kadhai over medium flame and heat oil in it. Meanwhile, take a little amount of dough and make into a ball. Using a little dry flour, roll it into a puri and cut into half. Afterwards, cut the puri in half from the middle and add about two tablespoons of the filling and fold well into a samosa. Using a little oil or water, close the ends of the samosa and keep aside. Repeat the procedure and make more such samosas.

Step 4

Check if the oil is hot enough to fry the samosas. Once done, add the prepared samosas in the kadhai and deep fry them until golden in colour. If your samosa is ready, remove it and place on a kitchen towel to soak the extra oil.

Step 5

When you have made the samosas, put them in a plate and crush a little, this is done to make the chaat. Add beaten curd over the samosas along with tamarind chutney, green chutney, chopped coriander leaves, salt, chaat masala, green chillies, pomegranate seeds and lastly ginger julienne and sev on top. Serve immediately.
