Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation on Monday announced the launch of their 'Vantara' programme, a comprehensive initiative to focus on the rescue, treatment, care and rehabilitation of injured, abused and endangered animals in India and abroad. Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, discussed this in an interview before his pre-wedding. Anant Ambani is getting married to Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant.

He told about 'Vantara', the largest rescue center in the world. Anant Ambani said that Sanat gave a lot of inspiration and everything that is is because of God. Every deity's vehicle is an animal. Very few people get the opportunity to serve and I thank God.

Vanatara is a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, conceived under the enthusiastic leadership of the Directors of RIL and the Board of Directors of Reliance Foundation. Anant Ambani is also heading Reliance's ambitious renewable energy business in Jamnagar, which aims to achieve 'net carbon zero' by 2035.

Vanatara aims to provide the best animal protection and care including state-of-the-art healthcare, hospitals, research and educational centers. Vanatara also focuses on integrating cutting-edge research and collaborating with prestigious international universities and organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF).

Spread across 3000 acres within the green belt of Reliance's Jamnagar refinery complex in Gujarat, Vantara aims to be one of the leading contributors to conservation efforts globally. Working with leading experts in animal care and welfare, Vanatara has transformed the sprawling 3000-acre site into a forest-like environment. It has become a completely natural, rich and green place for the rescued species of animals to thrive.

Over the years, the program has rescued more than 200 elephants and thousands of other animals, reptiles and birds from unsafe conditions. It has pioneered key species including the rehabilitation of rhinos, leopards and crocodiles.
