Registration for UPSC 2024 exam will start from this day, check exam pattern

There is good news for the youngsters preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. As per UPSC Exam Calendar 2024 notification along with application form for Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024 is scheduled to release on 14th February 2024. Aspirants for IAS and IPS posts will have time till March 3. They will allow 18 days for application process to fill and submit their online application form.

Candidates have to visit website upsconline.nic.in for online application process . Initially candidates are required to register on the One Time Registration (UPSC OTR Registration) platform available on the Commission's website. After registration they can apply online for the exam.

How to Register for UPSC CSE 2024?

  • To apply first visit UPSC official websites upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in .
  • Completing the registration process on the one time registration platform available on the website of the Commission.
  • Then proceed to fill the online application form for the exam.
  • To upload documents as required.
  • Complete the application process by paying the application fee.
  • Keep a copy of the submitted application for future reference.

When will the exam be held?

The calendar for the year 2024 was recently released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). As per the published calendar, the Civil Services Prelims Exam will be held on 26 May 2024. The prelim exam will be conducted in a single day. The admit card for this will be declared 7 days before the examination.

UPSC CSE Exam Pattern

  1. The first stage of the UPSC CSE 2024 exam is the Prelims exam. Let's understand UPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2024 in detail.
  2. There are 2 papers in UPSC Preliminary Exam – GS Paper and CSAT Paper.
  3. GS paper will have 100 questions and each question will carry 2 marks and negative marking of 1/3 or 0.33 marks.
  4. CSAT paper will have 80 questions. Each question will carry 2.5 marks. In this also 1/3 i.e. 0.33 marks will be negative marking.
  5. No marks will be deducted for questions you do not want to answer.
  6. Marks obtained in UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination will not be considered in preparation of merit list.

The final result will be announced after the interview

The main exam will be organized for the youth who have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam. In mains exam answer is written in details. Candidates selected in this have to do DAF registration. Interviews are conducted only on the basis of DAF registration. The final result is declared after the interview.
