Know why Saryu river is cursed?
According to mythology, Lord Sri Rama ended his life by taking a water samadhi in the river Saryu. Due to which Lord Bholenath became very angry with the river Saryu and cursed the river Saryu that its water will not be used for offering in the temple and its water will not be used for worship.
After this Mata Sarayu fell at the feet of Lord Bholenath and said, Lord, what is my fault in this? What can I do about it? Lord Bholenath told Maa Sarayu after much pleading that I can't take back my curse but it is possible that bathing in your water will wash away people's sins but your water will not be used in worship and temples since the water of river Sarayu was included in prayer and worship. not
No event occurs
Let us tell you that even now there is a complete curse on Saryu river. Wherever yajna is performed, water from seven rivers is brought for it. Saryu is not one of the seven rivers from which water is brought. Being accursed, the arghya is not offered on the banks of the Sarayu river.
