Many veteran candidates are contesting in the first phase elections. Including Union Ministers Arjunram Meghwal and Bhupendra Yadav. Arjunram Meghwal is contesting from Bikaner Lok Sabha seat for the fourth consecutive time. At the same time, Bhupendra Yadav is contesting for the first time from the Alwar seat. Apart from this, all eyes will be on Sikar, Churu and Nagaur seats in this phase. This time the Congress has left the Seekar seat for the CPI(M).
All eyes on the seeker seat
CPI(M) has fielded former MLA Amara Ram from Sikar. From here, BJP has given ticket to sitting MP Sumedanand Saraswati again expressing confidence. When the assembly elections were held in Sikar, the dominance of Congress was seen. The Congress won five of the eight assembly seats here, while three seats went to the BJP. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara also hails from Sikar. Amara Ram has political experience in Dantaramgarh. He has been an MLA since Dhod. Hence, it is expected that there will be a close encounter between BJP and Congress on this seat.
Churu-Nagaur Hot Seat
Congress has given ticket to Rahul Kaswan for Churu Lok Sabha seat. Rahul Kaswan is the current BJP MP on this seat. This time BJP refused to give ticket to Rahul Kaswan in the election. After this, Rahul Kaswan rebelled against the BJP and joined the Congress.
Nagaur Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan is also hot. From here, two veteran leaders of the Jat community are facing each other. This time the National Democratic Party has formed an alliance with the Congress. National Democratic Party leader Hanuman Beniwal is contesting on this seat. While BJP has given ticket to Jyoti Mirdha from here. Jyoti contested the last election on a Congress ticket and lost.
In the first phase, polling will be held in Rajasthan's Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur seats. Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan will be held in two phases. The first will take place on 19th April i.e. today and the second on 26th April. In the second phase, voting will be held on 13 seats.
