Let us tell you that the limit of free electricity under this scheme was fixed at 300 units. Under which the government touted its benefits, PM Modi addressed the public in a recent rally saying that so far 1 crore people have registered under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

What is the government's plan?

PM-Surya Ghar Yojana is a scheme run by the Government of India, under which the target is to install solar panels on the roofs of 1 crore houses, which will provide free electricity. If you install solar panels on the roof of your house under this scheme, the government will give the beneficiaries Rs. 78,000 will provide subsidy.

It aims to enable people to install solar panels and meet their energy needs. With this, the general public will save Rs 18,000 per year and the government's dream of green energy will soon be fulfilled.

How do I apply?

  1. First of all register in the portal. After that select your state. Select an electricity distribution company.
  2. After that enter electricity customer number. Enter your mobile number and email. Follow the instructions given in the portal.
  3. Login with customer number and mobile number. Apply for Rooftop Solar as per the form.
  4. Wait for possible approval from Discom. Once you get feasibility approval, install the plant from any vendor registered with your discom.
  5. Once the installation is complete, submit the plant details and apply for net meter.
  6. After the net meter is installed and inspected by the discom, they will generate a commissioning certificate from the portal.
  7. Once you get the commissioning report provide the bank account details and deposit the cancellation check through the portal. You will get your subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
