Ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board is taking big decisions. Just a few days ago, he appointed Gary Kirsten as the head coach of the team for two years. Now taking another drastic decision he has removed the entire medical department. Recently, the Director of Medical and Sports Science Dr. Sohail Salim resigned. Now their entire department has been removed. The board has said that the advertisement for the medical department will be released soon and a committee will be formed for this. The committee will also handle the selection process, till then an Assistant Professor will handle the work of the department.

Negligence of medical team of Pakistan team

The Pakistan team has been struggling with injury problems for some time now. The main bowlers of the team like Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf were injured. Even after returning to the team after this, he was not seen in rhythm for a long time. Many players are yet to get proper form and fitness in the team, due to which Pakistan cricket team as well as these players have to suffer the consequences.

The PCB threw out the entire medical department

But there is one name among these players, who could not return to the team even after a year. In fact, Ehsanullah, the team's young bowler, suffered an elbow injury in April 2023. More than a year has passed since his injury and he is yet to return to the team. The PCB says that the medical department has been negligent. He was not treated in time and the treatment given was not done properly. Due to which Ehsanullah could not recover yet. PCB has sacked the entire medical department.

Shaheen and Naseem were damaged

The negligence of Pakistan's medical department also affected the main bowlers of the team. Shaheen Afridi, the fast bowler considered to be the most dangerous in the Pakistan cricket team, has not been able to return to his old form yet. Before the injury, he was bowling over 140. But after coming back from injury, his speed has dropped to between 130 and 140. Apart from this, Naseem Shah's injury took 6 months to recover, due to which he could not play in the ODI World Cup. Apart from this, Haris Rauf has not been able to find his rhythm since the injury.
