Over 1.35 Crore Tourists Visit Gujarat's Legendary Tourist Spots During Summer Vacation

Tourists are coming to Gujarat from home and abroad. During the summer vacation period this year, from April 1 to June 10, 2024, more than 1.35 crore tourists visited tourist attractions and pilgrimages.

Tourists from home and abroad have a different attraction towards the tourism sectors of Gujarat. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, various infrastructure facilities have been developed to take the tourism sector of Gujarat to the world level and make the experience of tourists unprecedented. Twice the number of tourists enjoyed the beauty and diversity of the state.

During the summer vacation period this year, from 1 April to 10 June 2024, more than 1.35 crore tourists visited 12 tourist attractions and pilgrimage sites in the state. In the year 2023, 1.14 crore tourists visited these places during the months of April and May, compared to which the number of tourists has increased by 17 percent this year.

During this period famous attractions of Gujarat like Statue of Unity (SoU), Atal Bridge, Riverfront-Flower Park, Kankaria Lake, Somnath Temple, Ambaji Temple, Pavagadh Temple, Dwarka Temple, Science City-Ahmedabad, Vadnagar, Gir and Devalia Safari as well A large number of people had arrived to enjoy the Ahmedabad Metro Railway.

The heritage city of Ahmedabad has become the most preferred destination among tourists coming to enjoy 'Khushbu Gujarat Ki'. Ahmedabad has been the most preferred destination and district in terms of number of tourists in the year 2023-24.

Allocation of ₹ 2077 crore in the budget to develop tourism facilities

The state government has taken several steps to develop the tourism sector in the state and by boosting allied activities, creating new employment opportunities. ₹ 2077 crore has been allocated in the budget for the year 2024-25 for the Department of Tourism to improve the experience of tourists visiting Gujarat. In which attractive tourist destinations, religious, cultural and adventure attractions as well as eco-tourism will be developed.

The state's tourism attractions reached the world with the hosting of G-20 meetings

Recently, a series of G-20 meetings hosted by India were also held in Gujarat. The state government, by successfully hosting the G-20 meetings at world-class tourist spots such as the Dhordo of Kutch and the Statue of Unity, introduced the rich heritage of the state to the representatives of the G-20 countries.

The G-20 delegates appreciated it by visiting attractions including Dholavira, Modhera Sun Temple, Ahmedabad's historical heritage, Gift City and Dandi Cottage. The visit to the ancient cities was a memorable memory for him and in his responses he said that these are world heritages, which need to be preserved for future generations.
