According to information received by TV9 Bharat Varsh, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has spoken to the officials regarding this. He has asked the sports ministry to implement this agenda on a war footing. It has also been decided to form a special committee for Olympic preparations.
The Sports Ministry has stepped up preparations
The first meeting said that special attention should be paid to regularly talking to every channel related to the organization of the Olympics. The government has held talks with the Future Host Commission twice about organizing the Olympics. The Union Minister made it clear that the issue of the third round of talks should be decided soon and discussed.
Weekly monitoring should be done
Special emphasis has been laid on how proper coordination should be done regarding its organization in the Sports Ministry meeting. What is India's preparation?
India is ready to bid for the hosting of Olympics-2036. The Government of India will support the bid of IOA i.e. Indian Olympic Association to host the Games. For this, Ahmedabad has been selected on first priority basis in Gujarat. However, some more places are to be included in it, which is yet to be discussed.
A look at member states
Many issues were discussed in the meeting. The most important are the member states of the IOC. Where the Olympics will be held in these countries is decided by a majority vote. If sources are to be believed, the government has also started efforts to gain entry into the member countries. There are total 101 members who have right to vote. Apart from this there are 45 Honorary and one Honorary Members, who do not have voting rights. The Olympic Committee also includes the presidents and secretaries of more than 50 international sports federations. There has also been a discussion on how to talk to these countries at the diplomatic level.
India's claim has to be strengthened
The Olympic Games have been organized since 1896. Till date it has not been organized in India. Until now it was organized only in developed countries, but in the last few years there has been an increase in the demand to organize it in developing countries. A decision has been taken for the Olympics till 2032. In this context, India is a strong contender for the 2036 Olympics.
Who is the contender?
Germany, India, Qatar, Indonesia, Hungary, North and South Korea are technically already in line for Olympics-2036. Apart from this, Britain has also become a new contender. The venue for the Olympic Games is chosen after very careful scrutiny. The 2008 Olympics were held in China and the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. If priority is given to hosting the Olympics in countries that have not hosted them, India and Indonesia are strong contenders.
What is India's argument about the Olympics?
India is a fast emerging economy. India's growth rate has also increased in recent years. Also, India has hosted major events from Commonwealth Games to G20. Asian Games have also been held in India. Currently, India is strong enough to build the necessary infrastructure for the Olympics.
