The date of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is nearing but at the same time the political upheaval is also increasing. Now the period of political upheaval has started in Maharashtra. Where there are speculations that NDA and MNS i.e. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena may come together before the Lok Sabha elections.

The speculation gained further momentum when MNS chief Raj Thackeray arrived in Delhi to meet BJP leader and Home Minister Amit Shah. Both have already met. It is being said that there has been a conversation between the two regarding coming together in the Lok Sabha elections.

On the other hand, NCP president Sharad Pawar's grandson and MLA Rohit Pawar is constantly visiting different parts of Maharashtra. Rohit Pawar has given an open invitation to Raj Thackeray to support Mahavikas Aghadi and requested him to support Mahavikas Aghadi for the sake of Mahavikas Aghadi and the welfare of Maharashtra.

Don't go with BJP. NCP Sharad Pawar faction leader Supriya Sule also said if Raj Thackeray wants to join the India coalition then he is welcome. The NCP has taken to social media on Raj Thackeray's visit to Delhi and said, “The dual role of railway engines has finally become clear. Call this occasion the helplessness of the government or a precaution to avoid ED probe…” Let us know what will benefit the NDA from joining forces with Raj Thackeray?

Why is Raj Thackeray's endorsement important?

According to sources, the MNS has sought two seats, one in south Mumbai and one outside Mumbai which could be accommodated in the alliance. MNS in NDA may get seats in South Mumbai. His party's election symbol is a railway engine. If Raj Thackeray comes to NDA, Uddhav Thackeray will get a fire brand leader who belongs to the Thackeray family to give a befitting reply. The vote bank of both is of tough Marathi Manus.

Raj Thackeray's party has influence in areas like Mumbai, Thane, Konkan, Pune, Nashik where NDA can benefit. One of the reasons for bringing in Raj Thackeray is that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena is not getting as much public support as the BJP had hoped for.

Raj Thackeray can spoil MVA's math

According to information, Raj Thackeray alone cannot win any election but his voters can definitely spoil the math of Maha Vikas Aghadi i.e. MVA.

Raj has about 2.25 percent voters who vote for him directly and these are Marathi voters. In such a situation if Raj comes along, the Marathi votes will be divided especially in the seats where Uddhav's party will contest and the MVA will suffer. But if this vote goes with NDA then NDA's seat will be confirmed.

In 2019, Raj fielded candidates in 101 assembly constituencies, with only one candidate, Raju Patil, winning from Kalyan, but Raj received a good proportion of votes. Raj got around 12.5 lakh votes. In 2014, he got 1.5 percent votes in the Lok Sabha and 3.1 percent in the Assembly.

While Raj Thackeray got 4.07 percent votes in 2009, he got more than 15 lakh votes in Lok Sabha and 5.71 percent votes in Assembly and also won 13 MLAs. In such a scenario, if Raj Thackeray averages more than 2 percent of the votes, the vote count will change, which is sure to hurt the MVA.
