Livestock diseases such as anthrax, bird flu and rabies and poisoning (food, snake bite, chemical poisoning etc.) cause death of cattle-poultry-ducks during epidemics. Then especially the poor herdsmen who keep cattle-poultry-duck suffer a big loss
Livestock insurance scheme has been started to prevent huge losses to the animal husbandry and to ensure compensation to the animal husbandry. All small and big farmers can take advantage of this scheme.
Animal husbandry and dairying are very important sectors for the national and rural economy. For the development of the animal husbandry sector, it is necessary to protect the herdsmen from the accidental loss of the immune and genetic qualities of the animals along with the vixen. For this, Government of India has started Livestock Insurance Scheme.
