According to the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) report for the year 2021-22, a total of 46,878 foreign students from 170 countries are studying in India. This country includes students from neighboring countries of India such as Bangladesh, Afghanistan, USA and United Arab Emirates.

People from America and UAE come to India for higher studies

Highest 13,126 foreign students came from Nepal. This is 28 percent of the total foreign students. After Nepal comes Afghanistan, where 6.7 percent of students come to study in India. Its number is 3,151.

According to the AISHE 2021-22 report, besides neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, thousands of students come for higher studies from America and United Arab Emirates. Their number is as follows

Which programs in India are popular among foreign students?

There are 13 programs including B.Tech, B.Sc, MA, in which more than 1000 foreign students are enrolled. The Bachelor of Technology program has the largest number of students enrolled. Then comes Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science.
