Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has received a big blow in the defamation case related to PM Modi's degree. Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal and party MP Sanjay Singh challenged the summons issued by the lower court as illegal.

The demand was made from Kejriwal's side. The summons is dismissed. The Gujarat High Court rejected this application of Kejriwal. In such a situation, now Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh will have to appear when the Ahmedabad court calls them.

Now the option of the Supreme Court

Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh are alleged to have made such comments after the Gujarat High Court's decision regarding PM Modi's degree. The Gujarat High Court had given its verdict at the end of March last year on the order to provide the details of PM Modi's degree.

The court then quashed the order of the Central Information Commission (CIC). After the court's decision, both the AAP leaders held a press conference. Arvind Kejriwal is likely to file a petition in the Supreme Court if there is no relief from the High Court.

Personal information cannot be requested

Citing exceptions under the RTI Act for disobeying a seven-year-old order of the Central Information Commission, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the university, argued that a person holding a public office cannot seek such personal information from him. which is not related to their public life activities.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued that the information about the Prime Minister's degree is already publicly available and the university had earlier also put up the details on its website. RTI is used to attack opponents. However, the lawyer appearing for Kejriwal said that the Prime Minister's degree is not publicly available, as claimed by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, there is no information.
