Gujarat Police opened 28000 bank accounts which were frozen due to various reasons
In Gujarat, under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the State Home Department and Gujarat Police are constantly striving to maintain law and order in the state and increase the ease of living of the citizens. Recently, Gujarat Police has made a major effort to reduce the suffering of thousands of middle class victims of cybercrime.
28,000 bank accounts which were earlier locked have now been unfrozen due to the cooperation of the victims in the cyber crime investigation. The unfreezing of bank accounts has brought great relief to the victims. The percentage of amount refunded in 2024 is 46.42%, which was only 17.93% in 2023. The total amount put on hold till June 30, 2024 is ₹ 114.90 crore and the amount refunded for 2024 is ₹ 53.34 crore.
This distinction shows that the authorities have taken proactive steps to ensure timely relief to cybercrime victims.
