If any IAS or IPS is responsible in Rajkot fire, action will be taken against them too: Subhash Trivedi

Responding to a question that after the Rajkot TRP game zone caught fire, its debris was moved and evidence was destroyed, Subhash Trivedi said that the human remains of any victim in the 3000 degree heat was to be found and extracted from the debris. So that his DNA can be tested. The system does not intend to destroy any evidence of the fire.

Subhash Trivedi, the head of the special investigation team formed by the Bhupendra Patel government of Gujarat, has made an indicative statement regarding the TRP game zone fire incident in Rajkot. SIT chief Subhash Trivedi said that the IAS or IPS who are responsible in the TRP game zone fire incident will not be spared. Legal action will also be taken against them.

He further said that strict action will be taken against all concerned responsible officials in PGVCL, Rajkot Fire, Rajkot Municipal Corporation and Rajkot Police in TRP Game Zone fire incident. However, Subhash Trivedi, in response to a question whether a case will be registered against the officials of police, municipal administration and other departments who were suspended by the Gujarat government before the SIT report, said that this is a matter of policy.

It may be mentioned here that the Gujarat government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the chairmanship of Subhash Trivedi within hours of the Rajkot fire incident. The government also ordered the SIT to submit its preliminary report within 72 hours. While a detailed full report has been ordered to be submitted within 10 days.

A meeting of SIT members was held in Gandhinagar this morning in the presence of state home minister Harsh Sanghvi and state police chief Vikas Sahai. In which the investigations conducted so far by the SIT were reviewed. The SIT also discussed the statements taken by various officers, employees and officials regarding the fire incident. After this, the final report was discussed along with the issue of the next investigation in connection with the fire incident.
