The country's first bullet train will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. After Gujarat, now its work is going on at a fast pace in Maharashtra too. When the train reaches Mumbai, it will travel through a 21 km long underground tunnel to the last point of Mumbai i.e. Bandra Kurla Complex. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reviewed the ongoing bullet train work in Mumbai. The Railway Minister today inspected the center point of the tunnel being constructed at Mumbai, Vikhroli and last station Bandra Kurla Complex.

The first phase of construction of the tunnel path in Vikhroli has been started after the blasting of the tunnel today. According to the Railway Minister, this will be the first such long tunnel in the country and abroad, which will be 21 km. The tunnel will run from Vikhroli in Navi Mumbai to Ghansoli and Seal Phata in Thane and from Vikhroli to BKC.

That means the distance from Mumbai Thane to BKC will be 21 km and in that distance 7 km will be covered under the sea. The underground tunnel work was also very difficult. This is not easy as the machinery has to be used according to the subsoil study and the type of soil and rocks.

About 15 meters have been excavated so far in Vikhroli. The country's first bullet train will soon run between two metros like Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav conducted the inspection

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that a target has been set to run the first bullet train between Surat and Belimora by 2026. India is getting help from Japan in this project. According to the National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited, the bullet train will run at a maximum speed of 320 kmph.

With limited stoppages between Mumbai-Ahmedabad, this bullet train will cover the entire distance in just 127 minutes. Currently, it takes 9 hours by bus and 6 hours by train to travel between these two cities. This train starts from Bandra Kurla Complex and will reach its final destination i.e. Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad.

It will pass through eight districts of Gujarat, three districts of Maharashtra and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Japanese technology 'Shinkansen' has been used in this project. When the train reaches Mumbai, the 21 km journey will be covered through an underground tunnel.

This will be the longest underground rail tunnel in the country so far. Work on the first phase of India's bullet train project is progressing at a brisk pace, with work on the Gujarat portion almost complete and construction of the most important tunnel in Maharashtra starting today.
