Heatwave and heavy rain forecast in India, possibility of cyclonic circulation forming over North-East Rajasthan

Sky Met, a private organization of the weather sector, has predicted the weather conditions across the country today. According to the Sky Met report, the conditions will be favorable for the onset of monsoon in Kerala during the next 5 days. A deep depression over Bangladesh has moved in an east-northeast direction.

A depression is likely to develop over eastern Bangladesh at 24.4 N and 91.1 E longitude, about 170 km west-southwest of Silchar, Assam, 260 km north-east of Mongla (Bangladesh), Srimangal (Bangladesh) and 100 km northeast of Dhaka.

This system is likely to move further in the East North-East direction by the evening of 28th May. Also it will gradually become weaker. Cyclonic circulation over North-West Uttar Pradesh. Cyclonic circulation has formed over North-East Rajasthan. Cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan may extend a low level over Madhya Pradesh to north Chhattisgarh. A western disturbance may approach northwest India from May 30.

• During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain is likely over Northeast India, Lakshadweep, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 28 and 29.
• Light to moderate rain is likely over coastal Karnataka and north-east Bihar.
• Light rain may occur over Tamil Nadu, Konkan and Goa and south interior Karnataka. Scattered light rain is likely over Western Himalayas on May 29 and 30.
• Heatwave may cause severe heat conditions over many parts of Rajasthan, parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, parts of Madhya Pradesh and 1 or 2 places over Uttar Pradesh.

• During the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains have occurred over Gangetic West Bengal, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Lakshadweep and Kerala.
• Northeast India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Sikkim received light to moderate rain.
• Light rain occurred at 1 or 2 places over Odisha, East Bihar, Vidarbha and Coastal Karnataka.
• The temperature has dropped by 2 to 3 degrees in parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh with the onset of south-westerly winds.
• The heatwave caused severe heat conditions in most parts of Rajasthan, several parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, parts of Madhya Pradesh and 1 or 2 places in Uttar Pradesh.
