Today is Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani's birthday and he turns 66, but do you know that it was not easy for him to reach this position. Not only that, today he has completely transformed the Reliance Industries inherited by his father Dhirubhai Ambani into a company of the future. Let's take a look at his journey.

Mukesh Ambani started working at Reliance Group with his father at the age of 18. He has been holding important responsibilities in Reliance Industries since 1981. The biggest thing is that the name of his company 'Reliance Industries' was given to him in 1985. One thing is said about Mukesh Ambani that he always makes business plans based on what will happen in the next decade. The same is seen in their current decisions.

Changed the way Reliance works

Before Mukesh Ambani joined Reliance, his father was mostly in textile and chemical business. Mukesh believed that if he wants to become a big company, doing business only in these two sectors will not work. Mukesh Ambani, a graduate in chemical engineering and a dropout from Stanford University, started Reliance Industries in new areas and thus entered the petrochemical sector.

Working with Dhirubhai Ambani for a long time, Mukesh Ambani made Reliance Industries' Jamnagar refinery the largest petroleum refinery not only in India but in the world. But he knew the need of the telecom sector in the future. So he started Reliance Communications. This was truly his brain child.

When the telecom business went to Bhai

Mukesh Ambani suffered a major shock in the year 2002, when his father Dhirubhai Ambani passed away. After this, the business was shared with younger brother Anil Ambani and eventually he lost his dream project i.e. telecom business.

Under the split, Anil got the Reliance Communications Company and the two brothers had to sign a clause not to be in each other's business sectors for the next 10 years. Mukesh Ambani kept waiting and finally in 2016 he relived his dream and named it 'Reliance Jio'.

Today Reliance is a company of changing times

Today, as Mukesh Ambani becomes Asia's richest man, we must also take a look at his 20-year career of transforming Reliance Industries. He not only transformed Reliance from a petrochemicals company into India's largest telecom and retail company. Instead, it is also betting heavily on future needs.

Mukesh Ambani is investing heavily in green hydrogen, battery power and solar cell businesses keeping in mind future energy needs. Just like Mukesh Ambani wrote the fortune of Reliance in the age of oil. Likewise, he is laying the foundation for a new fortune for his children in the age of green energy.
