Considering the sentiments of the people and their requests, the Central Government has announced a half-day holiday on 22nd January 2024 till 2:30 PM in all Central Government Offices, Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments across India on the occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. So that the devotees can watch the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

Holiday announced in five states

The government of five states has already declared a holiday on January 22. These states include Haryana, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.

Uttar Pradesh- As per Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directives on January 22, educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed in view of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of Ram Mandir. Liquor shops will also be closed in the entire state on that day.

Madhya Pradesh- Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has declared a holiday in Madhya Pradesh on January 22. People are being encouraged to celebrate this day like a festival. Mohan Yadav has also declared January 22 as a 'dry day' in the state while announcing the order to keep liquor and bhang shops closed. He said, "Considering the sentiments of the public, we have decided that January 22 will be a 'dry day' in the state. Liquor and bhang shops will remain closed.

Goa- The Goa government has also announced a holiday for government employees and schools on January 22 in view of the 'Pranapratishtha' ceremony at Ayodhya's Ramjanmabhoomi temple on January 22, Live Mint reported. After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, "Along with schools, there will be a public holiday only for government employees."

Chhattisgarh- The Chhattisgarh government has declared a holiday on January 22 in all government schools and colleges in the state. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai announced this on social media. He wrote, “The whole world knows Siyaram. I salute you Yathashakti. All government and non-government schools and colleges in Chhattisgarh will observe a holiday on January 22, the day of the establishment of Lord Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Haryana- Haryana government has also announced closure of schools on January 22. Also, no liquor will be allowed anywhere in the state on the day of Pranapratistha ceremony.

Instructions given to ministers

Ministers were asked to light lamps in their homes and feed the poor on January 22. It is said to celebrate like Diwali. People from their respective parliamentary constituencies have also been asked to take trains to Ayodhya after January 22. It has been directed to make full arrangements and accompany them to Ayodhya by train. PM Modi also said that all this should be done with such simplicity so that harmony and goodwill is maintained.
