Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain has made a big claim regarding the disputed Gnanawapi Masjid. During the launch of a book in Delhi, Jain said that the people of the Muslim community who come to offer Namaz every day are constantly trying to bring down the roof of Gyanwapi. Advocate Vishnu Shankar claims that people from the Muslim community are coming to the basement in large numbers to break the roof and stop the worship.

Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain was speaking during the release of the book 'Waiting for Shiva'. Vishnu Shankar has said that 'We have filed a petition before the District Judge of Varanasi and have demanded that as far as the entry of worshipers on the basement terrace is concerned, it should be banned.' Vishnu Shankar Jain. In addition, he has also demanded repairs to the basement so that worship can be done properly.

Decision of Varanasi District Court

In fact, the District Court of Varanasi had ordered on the last day of January that worship can be held in the southern basement of the Gnanavapi Masjid. The court gave the responsibility of worshiping in this basement to a priest nominated by the Kashi Vishwanath Trust Board. The court asked to perform this puja under the supervision of DM of Varanasi.

Supreme Court and Gnanwapi case

About 8 hours after the decision, i.e. the same night, puja was performed in the basement and aarti was performed the next morning. After this, the Muslim party filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking a ban on the worship. After not getting relief from the Allahabad High Court, the matter is now in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is proceeding to hear the cognizable issue along with earlier petitions.

An application was filed in the district court

Speaking to news agency ANI, Vishnu Shankar Jain said, “We have filed a petition in the district court. In it we have said that as long as the worshipers are prohibited from entering the roof of the basement. Apart from this, repair work should be done in the basement so that worship can take place. "The order of the court can proceed without any hindrance."
