Breaking News: Sensex falls 530 points, Nifty falls below 24800 as the stock market opens

The market gapdown has started on the final day of the business week. Sensex and Nifty opened lower. In the pre-open itself there were signs of weak opening in Nifty and Sensex. Nifty saw a drop of over 200 points at the time of market opening. While the Sensex saw a decline of around 670 points. Most of the sectoral indices were also seen trading in the red.

Nifty slipped below 24,800

Indian indices opened lower today on August 2 due to weak global cues. NSE's Nifty fell below 24,800. The Sensex was down 680.73 points or 0.83 percent at 81,186.82 in market debut. The Nifty was trading down 210.80 points or 0.84 percent at 24,800.10.

Which stocks saw the most changes?

Today about 641 stocks were bullish. While 1831 shares fell. 117 shares remained unchanged. Shares of Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel and ONGC were the top losers on the Nifty. While Apollo Hospital, HUL Dr. Reddy's Labs, Nestlé and Tata Consumer were among the major beneficiaries

The stock market was like this yesterday

One trading day earlier i.e. on August 1, 2024, the total market cap of all the shares listed on BSE was Rs. 4,61,62,949.83 crores. As soon as the market opened today i.e. on 2nd August 2024, it came down to Rs 4,57,36,628.09 crore. It means that the investor's capital is Rs. 4,26,321.74 crore has decreased.

2649 shares are being traded on BSE today, up 85 shares from a one-year high . Among these, 651 stocks are bullish, 1849 are bearish and 149 are unchanged. Apart from this, 85 shares fell to a one-year high and 14 shares fell to a one-year low. While 75 shares reached the upper circuit, 60 shares reached the lower circuit.
