BCCI awarded 'special contract' to 5 players, one being the fastest bowler

BCCI has given central contracts to 40 Indian cricketers. The cricketers have got this contract for the 2023-24 season. Which has been divided into 4 grades. Included in A, A Plus, B, C category.

Grade A Plus players get Rs 7 crore per year. 5 crores in A grade and 3 crores in B grade. Those included in the lowest C grade are given Rs 1 crore each. The selection committee includes Akash Deep along with Vijay Kumar Shaik, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal and Vidwath Kavarappa for the pace bowling contract category.

Fast bowler Akash Deep made his Test debut against England in Ranchi. He took 3 wickets with the new ball in his very first spell. Akash has got a fast bowling contract. Akash from Bihar plays domestic cricket for Bengal.

Karnataka fast bowler Vijayakumar Vaishakh has also been included in the fast bowling contract by BCCI. He has taken 86 wickets in 20 first class matches so far. He plays for RCB team in IPL.

Vidwath Kavarappa plays domestic cricket for Karnataka. He has 80 wickets in 20 first class matches. Along with this, 18 lists have already taken 38 wickets in the match. He took 10 wickets in the quarter finals of the Ranji Trophy. He has 25 wickets in just 5 matches of the season. He got a chance to play against England Lions.

Karnataka fast bowler Vijayakumar Vaishakh has also been included in the fast bowling contract by BCCI. He has taken 86 wickets in 20 first class matches so far. He plays for RCB team in IPL.

UP fast bowler Yash Dayal has also got a fast bowling contract. Left-arm fast bowler Dayal has played 23 first-class matches so far and has 72 wickets to his name. He got a place in the Indian team but did not get a chance to play.

Umran Malik is considered to be the fastest bowler in Indian cricket history. He has bowled the ball at a speed of 155 km per hour. Currently, Umran is out of Team India. Umran has 24 wickets in 18 international matches.
