Ban Adipurush, lodge FIR against filmmakers: All India Cine workers association write to PM Modi
“This movie’s screenplay & dialogues are defaming the image of Lord Ram & Lord Hanuman. The film is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus & those following the Sanatan Dharma”, the association wrote in a letter to PM.
New Delhi: Adipurush, the mythological adaptation of Ramayana, continues to raise hackles of many cine-goers and infuriate the ‘Rambhakts’ because of cringe-worthy dialogues. Many organizations have registered their protest against filmmakers and accused the latter of showing Hindu gods & deities in bad light.
All India Cine Workers Association is among the latest to lodge protest against the movie. The association has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called for immediate ban on the movie.
“This movie’s screenplay & dialogues are defaming the image of Lord Ram & Lord Hanuman. The film is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus & those following the Sanatan Dharma”, the association wrote in a letter to PM.
The association says that Lord Ram & Lord Hanuman are pious & highly revered figures but the movie has sought to portray them as some characters from video games.
“This movie is hurting the sentiments of people in Indian & abroad,” it said.
Lashing out at the filmmakers for ‘demeaning & belittling’ Hindu gods by such sordid portrayal, the association has sought complete ban on screening of the movie in theatres and also on OTT platforms in future.
In the letter to PM, the association has also called for registration of FIR against director Om raut, writer Manoj Muntashir Shukle and producers of the movie.
“Adipurush is a complete disaster of our faith in Shri Ram & Ramayan,” said the association in harsh letter.
