The accident took place in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer on Tuesday during a war exercise. Indian Air Force fighter plane Tejas crashed. It is being said that this fighter aircraft was involved in war studies. Fortunately, the pilot managed to escape, ejecting safely before the plane crashed. However, one pilot is injured due to the parachute not opening in time.

The Air Force has released a statement informing about the accident. An Indian Air Force Tejas aircraft crashed during an operational training flight in Jaisalmer today, the Air Force said. The pilots ejected safely. A court of inquiry has been constituted to find out the cause of the accident.

The plane fell from the sky like a ball of fire near Jawahar Colony in the heart of Jaisalmer city. The fighter plane also crashed into a hostel. No casualty has been reported till date due to the accident. As soon as the plane fell, the fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. As soon as the plane fell, crowds of people gathered at the site in Jawahar Colony. A plume of smoke could be seen in the distance from the fire as the plane crashed.

PM Modi arrived to see 'Bharat Shakti'

The accident happened at a time when PM Narendra Modi had also reached Rajasthan's Pokhran firing range to witness the 'Bharat Shakti' exercise on Tuesday. The exercise showcased the strength of the indigenous defense equipment of the three armies.
