800 million internet users in the country, find out which service is used the most
Internet usage in India is growing rapidly. Internet users in India have increased by 58 percent in the last two years. According to the Internet and Mobile Association of India, the Internet is mostly used for entertainment in the country. Also, secondly and thirdly, users use it for communication and social media.
The number of internet users in the country is 800 million. This data was recently presented in a report by Imai Kantar. The data was collected in 2023, stating that about 86 percent of the country's total population uses the Internet. The most interesting thing in this report is that 86 percent of Internet users are people who use only one service.
The report states that out of 80 crore people i.e. 80 crore users, about 70.7 crore internet users use the internet to watch videos and audio on OTT platforms. After this report came out, you can guess that the demand for OTT platforms in India is increasing rapidly.
The number of internet users has increased in two years
According to a report by the Internet and Mobile Association of India and marketing data and analytics company Kantar, the number of Internet users in the country has increased by 58 percent in the last two years. In this, most of the users have used the internet to play Smart TVs, Smart Speakers, Fire Sticks, Chromecast and Blu Ray.
Giving the information, Harsh Jain, CEO and Co-Founder, Dream Sports said, based on the ICUBE 2023 study, Internet in India covers 90,000 households across all cities and union territories of India. This is a major survey on internet usage in India.
What do Indians do on the Internet?
According to the India in Internet 2023 report, 707 million OTT, 621 million communication, 575 million social media, 438 million online gaming, 427 million net commerce, 370 million digital payments and 24 million users use online learning services on the Internet.
