More than 100 injured, 4 dead...many houses damaged, storm wreaks havoc in Bengal

On Sunday, the storm caused havoc in Jalpaiguri. Trees were uprooted by strong winds. Houses were also heavily damaged. Crops were destroyed due to heavy rains. Electricity supply was disrupted due to the fall of an electric pole. Jalpaiguri SP has confirmed four deaths due to the storm.

Cyclone has caused major destruction in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Storm, rain and hail have caused loss of life and property in the area. A large number of trees have fallen. Many houses have been damaged. Jalpaiguri SP has confirmed the death of four people in the accident. More than 100 people have been injured. The SP further said that the information regarding the damages is being obtained.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed grief over the damage caused by the storm. He has announced compensation for the dead. Apart from this, the district administration has been instructed to provide all possible help to the affected people. Many houses have collapsed after the storm. Relief and rescue work is going on.

Four people died

With the help of local people, the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment. Jalpaiguri SP has confirmed four deaths due to the storm.

170 injured, Mamata Banerjee expressed grief

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed grief over the devastation caused by the cyclone. He has said that the next of kin of the dead and injured will be given adequate compensation. He has said that the district administration will provide compensation to the kin of the deceased and the injured as per the rules and in compliance with the MCC.

The Medical Superintendent and Vice Principal of Jalpaiguri Government Medical College says that more than 170 patients have come to the hospital emergency after the storm. Out of which 49 patients have been admitted in critical condition. Everyone is being treated.
