World Kidney Day 2024: Increased creatine levels can lead to kidney failure, know how to control it?

World Kidney Day 2024: Kidney is one of the most important organs of our body. The main function of the kidney is to purify the blood by removing waste from the blood. Every day our kidneys clean about 180 liters of blood. But did you know that the kidneys do more than just clean the blood? Kidneys also help balance fluids and electrolytes in our body. This is why any kind of problem in this organ can affect the overall health.

People with high creatinine levels should avoid any products that contain high levels of creatinine.

What is creatine? This leads to the risk of kidney problems - creatine is a waste product from the digestion of dietary protein and the breakdown of muscle tissue. Our kidneys normally filter it from the blood and this waste is removed from the body through urine. However, in case of excess in the body, it starts damaging the kidneys. If your blood test shows elevated creatinine levels, be careful, it can lead to life-threatening problems like kidney failure.

Why are creatinine levels elevated?-Health experts say that a creatinine level of 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL for men and 0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL for women is considered normal. If it increases, not only the problems related to the kidneys, but it can also increase the problems for other parts of the body.

Dietary disturbances, excessive consumption of meat, certain types of drugs including antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can increase the risk of kidney diseases, health experts say. All people are advised to keep their creatine levels under control.
