The central government has launched the PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme to provide up to 300 units of free electricity to the people every month. 1 crore families will be benefited under this scheme. The scheme will provide subsidy by the government to the installers of rooftop solar systems

The Modi government has launched the PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme to provide up to 300 units of free electricity per month to people. 1 crore families of the country will be benefited under this scheme. The scheme will provide subsidy to those installing rooftop solar systems.

A subsidy of at least 30 thousand rupees will be given under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under the PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme, a subsidy of Rs 30,000 will be given to a person who installs a 1 kilowatt rooftop solar system. While a subsidy of Rs 60,000 will be given to a 2 kW solar system installer, a subsidy of Rs 78,000 will be paid to a 3 kW rooftop solar system installer.

How to get subsidy

If you also want to take advantage of this scheme, first of all you have to register. For which select your state and electricity distribution company. Then enter your electricity customer number, mobile number and email in it. After that apply and after getting feasibility approval, install the plant.

In the next step you have to, after installation of the net meter and verification by the discom, the commissioning certificate will be generated from the portal. In the last step, once you get the commissioning report, submit the bank account details and canceled checks through the portal. You will get the subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.

To register for PM Surya Ghar free electricity scheme, visit the website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Enter your complete information on this website. Apart from this you can also visit the nearest post office for offline registration. The central government will spend a total of Rs 75,021 crore under this scheme. Under this scheme, people will get free electricity supply up  to 300 units and they will be able to contribute to the environment by installing solar panels in their homes.
