Students fumed over NEET result on social media

A PDF has gone viral on social media, claiming that the serial numbers of the topper list are the same as one. All these are candidates from the same centre. Where the same numbers appear in all serials, there is no student's surname. The list shows that 6 students have secured 720 marks out of 720, while there are two students who have secured 719, 718 marks. Students have vented their anger through social media and alleged that the centers have been mismanaged.

The National Testing Agency has clarified the allegations. He says that many candidates were spoiled for time on the exam day, due to which they lodged a complaint. In this regard, the formula of normalization was adopted. This is done during time loss and gassing marks are given to the students. This is the reason why students are given number 718 and 719.

67 students equal marks

NTA says that 56.4 percent students have cleared the exam. 67 students secured the same 99.997129 percent marks and thus shared the All India rank. The merit list will be prepared using a tie-breaking formula, in which students with higher marks or percentage in Biology will be given preference, followed by Chemistry and Physics students.
