Thank you PM Modi..Indian Navy saved a ship from Somali pirates, Bulgarian President was shocked

The Bulgarian President tweeted, "Heartfelt gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for the brave action of the Navy to rescue the 7 Bulgarian nationals including the crew of the Bulgarian ship Ruen.

The Indian Navy rescued the hijacked vessel MV Rouen from the Gulf of Aden three months ago. Marcos commandos of the navy also rescued 17 crew members on board the plane. Seven of them are citizens of Bulgaria. At the same time, the Government of Bulgaria has highly appreciated this bravery of the Indian Navy.

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev tweeted, “Heartfelt gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and the Indian Navy for rescuing their hijacked Bulgarian ship Ruen and its crew including 7 Bulgarian nationals. Also this brave action is heartily appreciated. Earlier, Bulgaria's Deputy PM Maria Gabriel wrote on X that I thank the Navy for rescuing the hijacked ship Ruen and 7 BG civilians including its crew members.

17 hostages released

In fact, a day after an operation nabbed 35 Somali pirates and freed 17 hostages held by them, the Indian Navy on Sunday said the action was necessary to strengthen peace and stability in the Indian Ocean and curb piracy in the region. He is determined to thwart any attempt to raise his head again.

Hijacked ship MV Rouen

The navy on Saturday seized the Malta-flagged merchant vessel (MV) Rouen, about 2,600 km east of the Indian coast, in a well-coordinated operation. Regarding this operation, experts said that this is the first successful operation to rescue a ship from Somali pirates in the last seven years.

The Navy deployed INS Kolkata and INS Subhadra and Sea Guardian drones during the nearly 40-hour operation. Exclusive Marcos commandos were flown from C-17 aircraft for the operation. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on 'X' that 'I congratulate the Indian Navy and the brave crews on board the ships and aircraft, including the Marcos, for their determined and decisive action.'

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Maria Gabriel thanked the Indian Navy for the successful operation to rescue the hijacked ship and its crew members, including seven nationals of her country. Responding to Gabriel's post, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, 'This is what friends are for.'
