An indication of global markets

Markets here closed lower on Friday ahead of the US central bank meeting. Most of the weakness was seen in tech stocks. On Friday, the Dow Jones closed down 191 points, the S&P 500 index down 33 points and the Nasdaq down 155 points. Among the mega tech stocks, Amazon fell 2.24%, Microsoft 2.1% and Meta 1.6%. However, the smallcap index Russell 2000 managed to close in the green.

If we talk about Asian markets, today we are seeing growth here. Japan's Nikkei index is trading up 2%. South Korea's Kospi index and Taiwan's market also rose by around half a percent. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index opened with a four percent gain.

Statistics of FIIs – DIIs

The market will also keep an eye on foreign inflows following the relief from SEBI to foreign portfolio investors. So far in March, foreign institutional investors have bought shares worth a total of ₹ 40,710 crore. On March 15, FIIs bought shares worth ₹ 848 crore in the cash market. Domestic institutional investors sold shares worth ₹682 crore on the day.
