Online Tv shopping fraud gang caught, old tricks instead of new ones

A case of a different type of fraud has come to light with the Amazon company in Ahmedabad. A complaint has been lodged at the Narol police station by the operations manager of Amazon Company's delivery distributor Valence Logistics Pvt Ltd in Narol area of ​​the city.

In the complaint, a complaint has been made by the company against its own men. In which a complaint has been registered against nine people including delivery boy, driver, PA working in Velax Logistics. When the names of two more people were revealed in the investigation, the police registered a complaint against 11 accused, out of which three accused have been arrested.

How was the scam going?

A complaint has been filed by Valex Logistics in which different people of theirs used to order TVs through the Amazon app, which based on the order, Amazon company Velenx Logistics was giving orders to pack and deliver the new TV. After which the delivery man was going to deliver the new TV from Velax logistic company. At the time when he opened the package of the new TV, he kept the old TV of the company and kept the new TV himself. Then they used to pack this box again.

After which they used to cancel the order given on Amazon and again put this old TV in the godown of the company. However, since this has been happening many times in the past, the amazon company became suspicious and conducted further investigation. In which the whole scam was exposed.

How many TVs did you exchange?

The police interrogated the three accused and found that two people, Mohammad Imran and Mohsin Hussain, who were running the business of selling old and new TVs, came in contact with the delivery boy and others. Both people used to give their old and discontinued TVs to company men and buy new TVs themselves. So far, company men and others have collectively canceled orders in the period August 2023 to December 2023, replacing old TVs with a total of 147 new TVs. The estimated cost of which was more than 97 lakhs.

Based on the complaint of the operations manager of the company, the police have arrested the delivery boy, PA and another laborer. While the police are still searching for eight people. During the preliminary investigation, a total of 147 TV sets have been exchanged. But the police are still seeing the possibility that this figure may increase.
