The Chief Election Commissioner said that around 11 elections have been held in the last one year. Elections were held peacefully everywhere. Court cases decreased. The crackdown on fake news has increased. The whole world is watching the Indian elections. This time 1.82 crore new voters have joined. In which there are 49.7 crore male and 47.1 crore female voters. There are 82 lakh people who are above 85 years of age. There are 2 lakh 18 thousand people whose age is more than 100 years. There are 1.82 crore first-time voters.
Increase in the number of women voters
The Election Commission said that the number of women voters has increased. Women voters are more than men. We also have data on voters who will turn 18 at any time in 2024. We are confident that the youth will not only vote but also help us increase voter turnout.
As far as booth preparation is concerned, there will be drinking water everywhere. There will be separate toilets for male and female voters. Apart from this, separate arrangements will also be made for disabled voters. The Election Commission will move polling stations to every corner of the country to strengthen democracy. We will go to the homes of all voters above the age of 85 to take their vote. This system will be implemented for the first time in the country. For this they will be given a form.
Voters can get information through voter helpline
Rajeev Kumar further said that, we will reach every place so that everyone can vote. Arrangements will be made to ensure that no waste material is visible at any booth after polling. Efforts will be made to reduce the carbon footprint. Any voter can get any kind of information through the helpline. All candidates having criminal records will have to inform about them three times through advertisements in newspapers.
