Indian woman crew member returned home from Israeli ship seized by Iran, foreign minister said - this is Modi's guarantee

Amid ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, an Israeli ship was intercepted in UAE waters. The vessel intercepted by Iran was a container ship with a total of 25 crew members. Out of which 17 crew members are Indians. One of these Indian women members has returned home today. Efforts for the release of others are ongoing.

One of the 17 Indian hostages on the Israeli ship has returned home. The Government of India is in constant touch with Iran for the release of the remaining 16 hostages. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is in constant communication with the Iranian Foreign Minister regarding the release of Indian hostages who are crew members.

Ownership rights held by an Italian company

Iran intercepted the Israeli ship on Saturday while it was passing off the coast of the UAE. A group of Iran's Revolutionary Guards is said to have reached the ship via helicopter. Although it is being said that the original owner of the ship is an Italian Swiss company, the container also has a Portuguese flag.

Indian officials in contact with Iran

Indian Ministry of External Affairs officials were in touch with Iran after Iran intercepted the ship. The Ministry of External Affairs had been in constant contact with Iran through diplomatic channels since the information about the presence of the Indian team on the ship. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar himself is in constant talks with his Iranian counterpart. Its impact is now visible. On Thursday, an Indian woman held hostage on that ship has returned home, other Indian hostages will also be released soon.
