PM told the Indian community that this is my first visit. The enthusiasm I see here is truly amazing. After 41 years, an Indian Prime Minister has come here. In his address, PM clearly said that India is the country which has given Buddha to the world. During the PM's address, the entire hall echoed with the slogan of 'Modi Modi'.

PM Modi said that there will be many people among you (Indian community in Austria) for whom a prime minister would have come from India before his birth. Now this wait is over. There are many similarities between India and Austria

Addressing the people, the PM said, your coming here shows how special the Indians living here are to Austria. Friends, geographically India and Austria are at different ends of the earth, yet there are many similarities between our two countries. Respect for democracy, freedom and rule of law are strengths of both countries.

The world is shocked to hear about the Indian elections

The PM said that elections are a great way to show the values ​​of both the countries. In India we have celebrated the festival of democracy with great fanfare. The world's biggest election has been held in India. Today people of the world are surprised to hear about the elections in India.

The election was over a few weeks ago. More than 650 million people have cast their votes. In terms of population this means 65 Austria. Imagine such a big election but the results are clear within a few hours. This is the strength of our democracy. After 60 years, India has got a chance to form the government for the third consecutive time.

200 years ago Sanskrit was taught in Vienna

The PM said that Sanskrit was taught in Vienna about 200 years ago. It received a further boost in 1880 with the establishment of an independent chair for Indology. I had an opportunity today to meet some distinguished Indologists, it was clear from their discussions that they are very interested in India.

Today, more than 150 Austrian companies are operating in various sectors in India. Austrian companies are working on several projects. It is expected that the companies here will expand into India in the near future.

Today India is being discussed all over the world

Talking about the achievements of the country, the PM said that today India is being discussed all over the world, India always talks about peace and prosperity. In 2014, India's economy was ranked 10th. We will make India a developed country by 2047. Two new colleges open every day in India.
