Banaskantha: Narmada Canal based Tharad Sipu Pipeline Project to fill lakes

The lake in Tharad area is to be filled by Narmada canal based Sipu pipeline project. The first phase of lake filling work is being started in Tharad area from Mahashivratri. Regarding this, two days ago, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly and the local MLA, Shankar Chaudhary, visited the Mahajanpura Pumpig station.

Water problem is bothering the border area of Banaskantha district. The area has had a water problem for years and the state government has made successful efforts to remove it. Due to which various water groups and canal schemes are implemented in the area. Similarly, now from Mahashivratri, lakes are being filled in Tharad area through Seepu Yojana.

The government has spent Rs 592 crore on the Sipu pipeline project connecting Tharad, Disa, Lakhni and Dantiwada talukas. The eastern region will benefit greatly as Narmada is fed into Sipu Dam. Farmers are bound to hope that the underground water level of the area will also rise.

The lake is being filled with Narmada Canal based Tharad Seepu Pipeline Project. For this, Shankar Chaudhary visited and started pumping water from Mahajanpura pumping station to the sump.

Most of them 47 lakes in Tharad taluka and 35 lakes in Disa are to be filled. While 19 lakes of Lakhni and 5 lakes of Dantiwada will be filled.

The Tharad Sipu pipeline is 70 kilometers long and has three pumping stations. Village lakes will be filled through the main pipeline. A link pipe has been arranged for this. 70 village lakes are to be filled by laying Tharad Seepu pipeline.
