There was a demand that the BJP should allocate the Surendranagar Lok Sabha seat to the Chuwaliya Koli community, the young leader of Rajkot, Dev Kordia, has made a claim.

BJP is yet to announce candidates for four seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It includes Mehsana, Junagadh, Surendranagar and Amreli. Given that the BJP has announced names in 5 of the 8 seats in Saurashtra Kutch, due attention has been given to this caste equation. Meanwhile, there has been a demand to give priority to the Chuwaliya Koli community on the Surendranagar seat.

Surendranagar is the stronghold of Chuwaliya Koli community

Ranchhod Udhareja, a leader of the Chuwaliya Koli Thakor community, said that Saurashtra is dominated by the Patidar community and the Koli community. Just as there are sub-castes in the Koli community, tickets are given to the Koli community in large numbers in Bhavnagar. Junagadh seat is given ticket to Ghedia Koli Samaj, Surendranagar seat is the stronghold of Chuwaliya Koli Samaj while the next Lok Sabha ticket has been demanded to be given to Chuwaliya Koli Samaj.

He further said that Chuwaliya Koli society has always been wronged. Current MP and Union Minister Mahendra Munjpara is a Chuwaliya Koli, while former MP Devji Fatepara is also a Chuwaliya Koli. Then it has been demanded that the BJP should give this seat to the Chuwaliya Koli community.

Dev Kordia, a young leader of Rajkot, made a claim

On the one hand, there has been a demand to give the Chuwaliya Koli Samaj in Surendranagar, while the prominent leader of the Chuwaliya Koli Samaj, Dev Kordia, has demanded tickets. Dev Kordia has been the youngest sarpanch and currently his wife is a member of the district panchayat and he is the general secretary of the Rajkot district youth BJP. Dev Kordia is involved in silver business and is also a film producer. In the name of allotting tickets to the youth, it has been demanded to give tickets to Dev Kordia.
